Together with our partners, CERN, The LEGO Group, National Geographic and Scientific American, today we are opening the second annual Olympiad Google Science Fair. In this largest online academic competition, students can participate from 13 to 18 years, individually or in groups of up to three people. To participate in the competition should submit a project that should be questioned, as well as developed and tested the hypothesis of a scientific experiment. The entire application process takes place online: participants present their project to the jury, filling out a form online.
It is worth noting that in the Olympics this year will be involved more countries than in the past: Google prinimaen work in 13 languages (Arabic, Chinese, Dutch, English, French, German, Hebrew, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Spanish and Russian . Then, they will choose 90 regional finalists (30 from North, South and Central Americas, 30 from Asia- Pacific region and 30 from Europe, the Middle East and Africa), whose names will be announced on May 21. Of these, 15 independent judges will choose who will get to the finals and the Olympics, and then go to Google's headquarters in Mountain View, California, where the July 23, 2012 will be the final Olympics.
